And tapping the mic...is anyone still listening out there?
After months of having nothing but baby on the brain and a longing desire to write, I think I'm at a point where I can strike a balance.
Sure, I could string together all the comments and pictures I've posted on Facebook for the last 7 months and get a pretty cute little story, but I need to focus on some hardcore creative noveling.
But which way to go?
I've been obsessing over whether to choose the glorious revamp I have outlined for Varuna Kannon (yes, I said it) OR the rewriting/finishing of my humorous chic-lit piece.
Both have such huge potential.
In my opinion at least.
When I attended an all day retreat with my writer's group back in June (I think it was) I presented them the chic-lit work.
One critter commented that the piece was SOOO different from the YA work it was like two different authors wrote them.
I asked, "What should I do if I was offered a publishing deal for both right now?"
"Pen name," he said.
"To which one?"
"The chic-lit."
I'll grant chic-lit is not his reading material of choice, but all in all I took this conversation as a mighty compliment.
Ah, but which to focus my precious spare energy on?
I suppose it doesn't really matter so long as I, you know, write.
Peace,
A Pink American
Good to have you back!
ReplyDeleteI've still got you on my RSS feed!
ReplyDeleteI have the same problem with deciding what to work on. I've got two novels going right, with one getting slightly more regular attention from me. But I can't just work on one.
